Minature Synths -- Amazing!

The first word that comes to mind is, wow! Check out these amazing lilliputian versions of various synthesizers and other analog gear. Some of them are even on sale. Drool. Whet your appetite for analog in the hi-res gallery.

Edit: This just in...The creator of these miniatures, Dan Pharlin, was kind enough to send a personalized response to my inquiry.

"Hey Lauren,

Thanks for your generous comments!

Let me know if you have any particular questions you would like answered.

Some info I can share:

The models represent fictional studio equipment like vintage tape machines and synthesizers. They are constructed from professional framing mattboards, and so are quite rigid. Patch cords are constructed from rubber bands and cardboard, and many details are hand-painted. Other objects like mallets are fashioned from toothpicks. No two designs are the same. I am also a sound artist and synthesizer collector hence my interest in making these. I also thought it would be an interesting experiment to render a technological object like a synthesizer in a non-technological medium.

They are individually priced, but most are around $60 US.

Best regards,
Dan
